We’re deeply grateful for the overwhelming response, receiving over 300 submissions from talented women artists across the globe. From personal narratives to bold reflections on global issues, the works offered perspectives that disrupt, question, and expand the boundaries of contemporary art we aim to champion.

Following a careful selection process led by our curatorial team and guest jurors — Carmen Ballesta, Huma Kabakci, Silvana Lagos, Alisa Lisovskaia, and Auronda Scalera — we’re proud to present the winner and finalists of the 2025 edition of On the Other Way:

Winner:

• Jingyi Li – London-based Chinese artist exploring the Asian female experience through soft, tactile materials. Her practice builds intimate, feminist spaces that connect emotion, memory, and materiality.

Finalists:

• Sabīne Šnē – London-based Latvian interdisciplinary artist whose work blends video, animation, sound, sculpture, and drawing to explore the relationship between humans and more-than-humans.

• Hattie Quigley – Edinburgh-based British painter and installation artist whose vibrant, visceral works explore the relationship between femininity, food, and female desire.

• Saba Giani – London-based Iranian visual artist working with themes of loss, displacement, and imagined space through a diasporic lens.

We thank every artist who submitted their work and trusted us with their stories.

We will be reaching out to the selected artists to schedule individual calls and discuss the next steps regarding the open call benefits. Additionally, we will contact several other artists to invite them to participate in our upcoming exhibition, taking place from 18–21 September at Hub/Art Barcelona, even though they were not selected as finalists.
